Car 27 moves on the straight and slams into the side of Car 256. It's pretty clear that car 27 lost awareness of others while racing hard. What is a bit confusing is why they shifted to the right into Varianta Alta as there was no opportunity to make a proper overtake there.

10s for making contact on the straight. Some stewards were considering increasing the penalty due to the level of impact, but we will stick to the "type" of incident rather than the outcome of the incident. What is noted is Car 256 does a pretty good job of holding the brakes through the incident. Well done car 256!
