After much discussion behind the scenes, the moderators and stewards of ACRL have come to a decision regarding the incident(s) at Spa involving a "cut-track bug exploit".
For context about the bug: ACC works out the "time gained" is based on a dry track - thus when it calculated the time "gained" on the track cut on a wet track it did not have an "advantage." This is obviously incorrect - and thus we have the ability and right as stewards to appeal the in-game penalization system.
The problem arises that the driver doing the cuts knows that they are gaining an advantage, and were well aware of the first postulation of the rules where it is stated "cut penalties will be assigned by the game." We as a racing community did not like the clear exploitation, and thusly feel this incident is unsportsmanlike, and thusly will be assigned a DSQ to the race.
We are happy to hear any comments and questions regarding this incident. We want to set the precedent that bug exploitations that are clearly against the spirit of the sport will not be tolerated in ACRL.
