Mazda MX5 Cup
Welcome to our upcoming MX-5 Cup Season – a tightly-packed, action-heavy championship designed for clean, competitive racing in one of the most balanced cars in simracing. Whether you're a seasoned wheel-to-wheel veteran or new to our community, this season is the perfect opportunity to get stuck in.
Over the next 16 weeks, we’ll be running 8 race weekends on alternating Sundays. Each round will feature three races:
Race 1: 15-minute sprint with a traditional qualifying-based grid.
Race 2: Another 15-minute sprint, but with a reverse grid for the top 10 finishers from Race 1 – shaking up the field and keeping the racing unpredictable.
Race 3: A 30-minute feature race, worth double points, where consistency and strategy come into play.
All races will be held in the Mazda MX-5 Cup car on Assetto Corsa, offering incredibly tight and rewarding racing. Expect bumper-to-bumper action, clean overtakes, and plenty of opportunities to battle throughout the field.
Drivers will earn points across all three races, and with the reverse grid and double points in play, no lead is ever safe – keeping the championship alive right to the final round.
Whether you're here to chase the title or just enjoy some hard-fought racing with a great community, this is going to be a season to remember. We’ll see you on the grid!

There are no Nations Cup results for this season yet
The weekend format is 60 minutes of practice followed by a 10 minute quali, then two races of 15 minutes each followed by a feature 30 minute race. The first race grid is set by quali order, the second by race 1 finish order (with random reverse), and the third race is set by the finishing positions of race 2. Drivers will need to leave the server and rejoin between each race session (but not between quali and race 1), while the server entry list and configs are re-generated. Drivers are encouraged to hang out in Discord between races, so they see the "server back up" announcements, which is typically about 10 minutes.
We will also be implementing success ballast, starting at 70kg for first and reducing by 7kg for each following position up to 10th. This should also keep things close! The first race of each weekend is ballasted by season ranking, then races 2 and 3 are ballasted according to the results of the previous race. So the season leader will carry 70kg into race 1, the winner of race 1 carries 70kg into race 2, and the winner of race 2 carries 70kg into race 3.
As administrators, we also reserve the right to give certain drivers who cannot attend all events "competition ballast" so as to keep the racing closer. The point is not to penalize these folks, but to make sure their racing experience is as good as everyone else's as they are not operating with an "unfair" advantage for their relative pace.
