British Touring Cars
This season sees us taking a trip to Great Britain, running the three 1990's BTCC cars from PM3DM - the Volvo S40, Nissan Primera and BMW 320i! A bunch of small, claustrophobic tracks in three well matched cars that encourage good old fashioned BTCC side-by-side action. So, get your elbows out and come have some fun!
Weekend format is an hour of practice followed by 10 minutes of qualifying, then three 15 minute races, with the finishing order from Race 1 setting the order for Race 2, and the finishing order from Race 2 randomly reversed from 6-12 for Race 3. We are also using modern BTCC success ballast, starting at 75kg for first and reducing by 9kg for each following position up to 10th.
We are also applying a small amount of season BoP to even out the cars a little prior to the start of the season. Although not the exact format used in the 90's, we feel like the modern day event, BoP and success ballast format will translate well to this era of car, and provide us with some hard fought, well balanced action.

The weekend format is 60 minutes of practice followed by a 10 minute of quali, then three races of 15 minutes each. The first race grid is set by quali order, the second by race 1 finish order, and the third race is a grid reverse with a random reversal between position 6 and 12. Drivers will need to leave the server and rejoin between each race session (but not between quali and race 1), while the server entry list and configs are re-generated. Drivers are encouraged to hang out in Discord between races, so they see the "server back up" announcements, which is typically about 10 minutes.
We will also be implementing modern BTCC success ballast, starting at 75kg for first and reducing by 9kg for each following position up to 10th. This should also keep things close! The way this works is that the first race of each weekend is ballasted by season ranking, then races 2 and 3 are ballasted according to the results of the previous race. So the season leader will carry 75kg into race 1, the winner of race 1 carries 75kg into race 2, and the winner of race 2 carries 75kg into race 3.
There will be also a small amount of BoP applied to the Primera and Volvo, but we will be using all 3 90s BTCC cars that we have tested.
Important notes - if you drive the Primera, you must download and install the one from our Google drive (hosted with permission from PM3DM), as we had to do a little custom work to it so that it could achieve a legal ride height with the amount of ballast it could be carrying in this season. We have also tweaked the fuel consumption ratio in order to balance this with the other cars. If you then wish to drive the car in other online sessions outside of ACRL, you will need to re-install the one from Overtake.gg.
Additonally, if you drive the BMW, you must install the one from our Google drive. We have increased the steering lock and steering ratio. These changes make the car a bit easier to save, echoing feedback we received from testing. If you wish to race the car elsewhere, please download the car from Overtake.gg
