ACRL is an amateur sim racing league run by volunteers. This page says what we keep about you, why, who can see it, and how to get it changed or removed. It is written in plain English on purpose. There is no legal department. ACRL Global MegaCorp, Inc. is neither global, nor a MegaCorp, nor an Inc. It's a group of volunteers who like racing, and the person who reads your message about this page will be one of them.
When you register, and as you race, we store:
- Your name, a username, and your email address.
- Your Steam ID. Assetto Corsa identifies you to the race servers by it, and it is how your laps and results are matched to you. Nothing works without it.
- Your in-game driver name, your race number, and if you give them, your Discord name, your region and your country.
- Which seasons you have entered, which car you drive, and your check-ins.
- Your lap times, race results, penalties, and standings, from the moment you first turn a wheel on one of our servers.
- Any livery you upload for your car.
- Your email preference, so we only send what you asked for.
- A password, stored hashed. We cannot read it and never will.
We do not ask for your date of birth, your address, or any payment details, because we have no use for them. The league is free.
Most of it you type in. Two things arrive another way:
- Steam. When you link your Steam account, Steam confirms you own it and tells us your Steam ID. That is all we receive. We never see your Steam password, your games, or your profile, and you can enter your Steam ID by hand instead if you prefer.
- The race servers. Every lap you drive on an ACRL server is recorded against your Steam ID, with its time, sectors, car, and whether it was clean. That is how pre-qualifying, time trials, and results work.
- Other members. Results, standings, pre-qualifying boards, time trial boards, and entry lists show your driver name and your times to signed-in members. That is what a league is. None of it is visible to the open internet; you need an account to see any of it.
- Liveries you upload are distributed to every member's sync client so that everyone sees your car as you painted it. Treat a livery as public.
- League admins and stewards can see everything above, including your email and Steam ID, because they run the league, sort out protests, and chase up entries.
- Nobody else. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your details with anyone, and there is no advertising on the site.
A handful of outside services handle data on our behalf. Each sees only what it needs to do its job:
- Mailgun delivers our email: season notices, race reminders, and results. It sees your email address and the message.
- Google Drive holds our nightly backups of the site's database, in the league's own Drive, which only league admins can open.
- Discord is where the league talks. Announcements we post there name events and servers, not people. If you link your Discord name we store it so admins can find you; we do not post about you.
- Steam, as above, for confirming your Steam ID.
The race servers themselves are ours, on hardware we run.
The site sets the cookies it needs to keep you signed in and to protect forms from tampering, and nothing else. There are no analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party cookies of any kind.
Results and standings are the league's history. They go back to 2013 and we keep them, because a season's results are not much use with holes in them.
Everything else is kept while you have an account.
- You can see and change most of what we hold about you from your profile page.
- You can tell us to stop emailing you, there or by asking.
- Your results stay in the league's history under the driver name you raced under, because other people's championships depend on them. If you would rather your past results did not show that name, change your Assetto Corsa driver name on your profile page and every result relabels with it. Leaving it blank shows your account name instead, not nothing.
- You can ask us to delete your account. We will remove your email, your Steam ID, and your other personal details. Change your driver name first if you want to. Once your account is gone you can no longer sign in to change it, and we will not change it for you afterwards.
To do any of this, or to ask anything about this page, find a league admin on our Discord.
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will say so on the site and on Discord.
